Jan Barta and Michal Illich, two Prague based internet entrepreneurs and angels, own majority of StartupYard.The venture capital firm Credo Ventures and the startup space TechSquare help with the program.
What is acceleration program
An acceleration program is a mid-term support for startups, provided by a group of experienced entrepreneurs and investors. The goal is to accelerate start of a few up-and-coming companies with breathtaking ideas and help the founders usually in first 3 to 6 months.Who are mentors
Mentors are mainly experienced entrepreneurs and investors who both succeed and fail. The mentors want to help new founders to become stars by regular mentoring, contacts, and clear feedback. It’s their own decision to help talented founders to be better entrepreneurs.Why you should be at StartupYard
It’s your decision, so you need to know your reasons. Here is a list of a few arguments by our former teams:- mentors - the opportunity to meet experienced founder for months on regular basis
- feedback - daily feedback on your idea, business, making money
- time - you shorten your start, change thinking of your business to doing your business
- contacts - the most invaluable point, take the chance to be in a startup network

How much funding StartupYard provides
StartupYard invests up to $10k (CZK 200k) into a team in exchange for 10 % equity. If a team doesn’t need funding, you can enter the program in exchange for 5 % equity.We have only an idea for a business. Shall we apply?

Yes, StartupYard is for running companies too, usually founded a few months ago. If you need to shape your model and start yourself, go ahead.How we choose the teams to StartupYard
First you need to apply.Second we evaluate your application and can ask for details.
Third we will meet once or more times to learn more about you, your idea and goals.
Fourth - start :-)
We will choose most likely 5 to 8 teams from tens of applicants.
